Five-axis Machining Offers Platform for Growth in 2010
Like many industries CAM had a rough time in 2009, with the global economic downturn taking its toll on the manufacturing industry just as it did many other fields. CIMdata reported that all but one of the largest companies in the CAM space saw non-existent or negative growth. OPEN MIND Technologies, the one company CIMdata reported as showing growth last year attributed most of their progress to an early focus on five-axis machining and the ability to help customers implement the new hardware solution before it had really caught on.
